There's nothing my boys would rather do than have my full and undivided attention: no deadlines, no phone, no interruptions, just me and time to play.
When they were tiny, their faces lit up at just the sound of my voice. Now they light up when I give them encouragement or a heartfelt compliment.
My hugs calm their fears; my kisses heal their scrapes and bumps; my attention dries their tears.
At bedtime, they snuggle into me for stories and cuddles.
As parents, we are the entire lens through which our little ones see the world, and we get to communicate the world to them.
What an incredible responsibility.
If you're worried that you won't measure up, just remember this: you are the right parent for your children. No one loves them the way you do. No one knows them better. No one can do a better job than you.
Your kids may not remember everything you say to them, but they will always remember how you make them feel.
So forget the endless errands and to-do lists. Just love on your littles. It’s your most important job; enjoy it!
Be you bravely,
Deeanne
